LUXURY BUSH SAFARIS ( SLA / LBS 007 ) Day 1: Arrive / Nairobi Welcome to Nairobi , Kenya 's vibrant capital city. On arrival you will be met by a SLA representative who will assist and transfer you to The Giraffe Manor set in 140 acres grounds home to the warthog, duiker and bushbuck and more than 170 species of birds. The 4 elegant bedrooms are comfortably furnished with large four poster beds, antique pieces and striking art deco bathrooms. Enjoy gourmet meals made in one of Nairobi 's finest kitchens and encounter the endangered Rothschild giraffe as you enjoy breakfast or as you walk through the grounds. Day 2 & 3: Amboseli – Tortillis Camp After breakfast a transfer will be provided to Wilson Airport for the 08h30 flight to Amboseli National Park , renowned for its large population of elephant herds, plains game and abundant birdlife. This vast tract of land spreads out as far as the eye can see and the spectacular sights of Mt.Kilimanjaro provide a magnificent background. Your home for two overnights is Tortilis Camp, situated just outside the Park in one of Amboseli's few remaining areas of unspoilt woodland, with the majestic backdrop of Africa 's highest mountain, snow-capped Kilimanjaro. The luxurious tents are all large and spacious, with king-size beds, elegant en suite bathrooms with steaming hot showers and modern flush toilets. There is a main lounge, bar and dining area, all exquisitely built with natural materials and thatched roofs, with a magnificent view of Kilimanjaro. During the day, you can take game drives with one of our guides in an open 4WD vehicle or go for a guided walk outside the park with one of our expert Maasai guides. Tortilis Camp has won the British Airways Regional Award for Ecotourism and has been awarded a place on the Conde Nast Travellers 2005 Gold list. Day 4 & 5: Tsavo - Campi ya Kanzi After breakfast, a road transfer will be provided to Campi ya Kanzi . Located on the western edge of Tsavo West National Park , the Chyulu look out over one of the most peaceful panoramas in all of Africa - the sprawling plains stretching to the distinctive snow-dome of 19,340-foot Mount Kilimanjaro . Perched on the panoramic ridge of the Chyulu Hills with breathtaking views of the giant snow-capped Kilimanjaro is Campi ya Kanzi, a beautiful wildlife-viewing retreat and a pioneering ecotourism destination. The lodge comprises a large and luxurious main house, with six spacious tents scattered around the surrounding countryside. Spend two full days enjoying exciting game viewing, cultural experiences and Luca & Antonella's remarkable hospitality. Each morning you'll wake to the heady aroma of freshly brewed Kenyan tea or coffee brought to your verandah by your personal Maasai steward as the sights and sounds of Africa emerge with the rising sun. You'll have options for taking bush, river or forest walks with expert local trackers, picnics on the hills, game drives on the ranch or venturing further a field to Amboseli National Park , famous for its vast elephant herds. Day 6: Nairobi – Giraffe Manor A transfer will be provided to the airstrip for the flight back to Nairobi . A driver will transfer you back to the Giraffe Manor where you will spend the night. Spend the day getting to meet Lynn or Jock or one of the other members of the giraffe family who may come and share morning or afternoon tea with you or take walks in the adjoining primeval forest. Meals will be served in the Manor's dinning room. Day 7 & 8: Mara – Cottars Camp After breakfast a transfer will be provided to Wilson for the morning scheduled service to the Mara. Our destination is the Cottar Safari Camp, which recreates a golden era of old Africa 's safari romance and is reminiscent of a great era of romance, elegance and adventure. Situated in the Masai Mara and bordering the Serengeti and Loliondo reserves, this untouched 250,000 acre exclusive concession provides the discerning guests a guarantee of privacy and an abundance of wildlife. The guest tents accommodates up to 16 clients in authentic white canvas tents, which are spacious and luxuriously furnished. They incorporate original safari antiques from the '20's, private en suite dressing rooms, bathrooms the main bedroom and a verandah. The camp is equipped with a tented library/reading room and the cuisine and silver service is of the highest standard to be found in the bush. Each tent has its own private butler. The hosts Calvin and Louise Cottar who reside at the camp are complimented by highly experienced and knowledgeable guides. Enjoy the walks through the bush to experience close encounters with wildlife. Being close to the border with the Serengeti, the spectacular wildebeest migration moves through this area every year and prolific game viewing is guaranteed whether on foot or in a 4-wheel drive vehicle. Day 9 & 10: L. Naivasha – Kongoni After an action packed stay in the Mara, you will fly back to Nairobi . Your guide will be waiting to drive you to Kongoni where you will spend two overnights. The drive is through some of the most exciting scenery to be seen anywhere in Africa and gives the guest an unrivalled view of the majestic Great Rift Valley . Kongoni is a beautiful villa offering first class accommodation and excellent cuisine. Built at the beginning of the last century, the wide open verandas provide spectacular views of Lake Naivasha . Activities include game drives in the privately owned conservation area and its wildlife: exotic animals and birds - Leopard, Zebra, Impala, Giraffe, Buffalo , Hippo, Flamingo and hundreds of other species. Kongoni offers a wide range of other activities such as horse riding, game walks, boat rides to mention a few. Day 11: Depart Today our safari sadly comes to an end and your driver guide will drive you back to Nairobi after a truly unique safari experience!
